There are a LOT of tourists in the region who could be asked to look out for them or asked about recent sightings. Just, PROFILE PICTURES, even of clothing and more information on the characters and there past travel experiences (travelers always chat about the places they have best experienced) would HELP A LOT to remember seeing them and report information. Not all have email, telephone numbers/contact info?
In most countries travelers and tourists are respected for the support they give to the local economies, im sure the local authorities are doing there best as not to frighten off tourism. Let us pray they appear again. This might be a case of kidnapping by amateurs trying to make a quick buck. Other than Colombia, I did not know there was such a high risk of disappearing in S.America recently!
Also, as more travellers return home, the more read about the search, hope information comes in soon. Please keep us informed...

After weeks of increasingly desperate waiting for a word of my brother Peter and Katharina, we still have not heard anything from them. We quite certainly know they have been victims of a tourist scam, undertaken by a gang of people who seem to run this as a business. We also have received many replies from people who told us that the same happened to them and some of them even recognized members of the gang from pictures. Please have a look at the site, where a picture of the head of that gang (Ramiro Milán Fernández) of false policemen can be found...
Please let us know if you know anything that can help us to find out about the whereabouts of Peter and Katharina, and/or the whereabouts of Milán. Thank you all!!!

it must be awful for you. I never knew Bolivia was such a hazard. It would be good if there would be an alert banner showing a picture and some info on them. I hope you find them soon. ---
