Hey everbody!

I will be in Peru for a few weeks in August, traveling with a friend, and I was wondering about the fastest/most economical way to get out to the jungle, Iquitos in particular.

We'll have to fly, that much is clear, but the prices from Lan Peru are crazy. I know that Star Peru is significantly cheaper, but has anyone simply gone to the airport in Lima and found a flight?

Any suggestions or horror stories?

Also suggestions of places to stay in/around Iquitos would be most welcome.

Many thanks!

-Sarah-

Hi Sarah.

Im in Cuzco, Peru at the moment, if your heading this way, you can do jungle trips from here without flying. The travel agency I have been using here is Andes path, they have been very good with English speaking guides. They do a 5 day, 4 nights jungle trek for $480 all inc, there Email address is apuausangatet@hotmail.com. Hope this is of help to you. Peru is a wonderful place to travel. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me and I will do My best to answer them. All the best Mark.
