Jaca lies in the Spanish province of Aragón, close to the border with France. It is, for those using public transport, an unavoidable access point both for the beautiful villages of Hecho [Echo] and Ansó and for the border town of Canfranc. From Canfranc the old railway to Oleron - Ste. Marie is now replaced by an SNCF [French Railways] bus. The route through the French Pyrenees is most attractive and a good complement to explorations on the Spanish side.
To reach the nearby national park of Ordesa, it's necessary to change in Sabiñanigo.
Jaca is increasingly seen as a transit town but it has its own attractions such as the cathedral and the citadel. [edit text]  [editors]
