Hi everybody,
I am happy to announce the launch of GLOBOsapiens.de in german language. I took quite a while to get this online, but finally there is a german GLOBOsapiens out there!
So what does it mean for you and your account if you do speak german? The german GLOBO offers you everything what the english version does including access to all the english speaking content. We do have an interface in german now and the reports are sorted after languages. You can login with your account you already do have and start publishing in german or english. The site itself has its own live so there will be seperate contests for each one, top pictures top reports and more. There is lots more to tell about it, but see for yourself! I am here for you GLOBO finally took the step to be belingual!
Best regards,
Andy

Hi Andy
I'm afraid my german is limited to the very little I picked up on national service [1956-8]
Even so I am really thrilled with this development.
Congratulations,

We are ONE "GLOBO" community!
Why now separate member lists?
Why no access to BOTH Forums net <> de ?
Why new login required for the (small)switchable english <> german buttons between the two? What about american?
Why a german best-picture-of-the-month? No sense! Pictures dont have languages!
Andy, I like the ".de" site and tested it for weeks as OK. A universal databank accessed by two different languages is a super achievement. Just the above questions have surprising errupted and I now think a simple language option at ".net" or referance to a special homepage for any country/language with relative buttons would be far better!
We wish ONE "multi-lingual" not two seperate uni-lingual communities!!!!!!!!!!!!
The german sister site is great because all menues, commands, details and info is now available more comfortably to about 100 million extra users. I know some people that will now join who were not comfortable with english. I would like the same to be done for Spanish and French very soon next, SAME DATABANK, SAME MENUES/LAYOUT just in different languages portals,... technically achievable.
Anyhow it goes, ideal and important is that:
- the picture/foto remains the MAIN means of communication at GLOBO
- all languages are tolerated, all members are moderators and should help together!
- memberlist must be SORTABLE by click into language or country groups
- new Forums should be created for different languages. Not new hidden threads like currently splitted; ".de" cann't see ".net" and visaversa!
- I will support GLOBO anyway, it is still nearly perfect!
Members, this is your ONE, multi-lingual multi-portal web-community and databank. Make it better, please comment, in any lingo! [ This Message was edited by: rangutan on 2005-10-21 23:24 ] --- Rudolf "Rangutan" Graspointner

If you open a section in Spanish, it will have a lot of exit with Argentinans and Uruguayans and mexicans and chilenos, I am sure. --- Miguel citizen of the world

Hi everybody,
thank you for all your feedback and info.
Rangutan: We are seperating the member lists and other content since we do want to create a german globosapiens site, not a translation of the existing pages. The new members on globosapiens.de do want to get into the first places as well, but the members on the englisch site did have 3 years time to achieve so many points. Also it is very strange for a german site to see so many people from all over the world online which do not speak german. It does also not make sense to start bilingual or trilingual postings. The german GLOBO community will have its own live. The benefit for the german speaking members who already signed up on the english site is, that they can login on the german pages as well. We have put lots of thought into it and what is best. We believe that considering all advantages and disadvantages, this is the best solution.
Best regards,
Andy
