After thinking we wouldn't be able to afford to go anywhere soon and me being a tad bit miserable about it, we decided to go back to Morocco in March.
The flight is booked and we found a great little self-catering apartment just outside of Essaouira for just £150 for a week. That works out just over £10 pp per night. I'm really proud of myself. The flight was also reasonable, although we could have saved ourselves £20 if we had booked just one day earlier!
The plan is to explore Essaouira and environs in a bit more detail (last time we went on a day trip and were ill from something we ate the night before), drive along the coast towards Agadir and Safi and otherwise chill out and hopefully get a bit of sun.
At the end we'll be spending another day in Marrakech.
Two months to brush up my French.

Booked our flights to Mexico this morning - still over 5 months to go until we leave, but something to look forward to and get me through the cold, rain and darkness of the coming months.
We'll be flying directly to Cancun from Gatwick with Thomson, cheaper than the indirect flights and a lot less hassle (who wants to spend several hours at some airport waiting for your connection).
I'll be booking the accommodation over the next few weeks, but the preliminary plan is 7 nights in Tulum, 2 nights in Chichen Itza, 1 night in Valladolid and the last 4 nights on Isla Mujeres.
