UPDATE!!
Thought i'd update you on the Skytrain's new route opening from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Reports suggested that as from December 2009 you'll be able to travel to and from the airport into the city. (I'm currently trying to get up to date info on this direct from Bangkok).
As any regular traveller to Bangkok knows what it's like using taxis at the airport, some tourists have been ripped off by taxi/ limo touts who charge up to a whopping 5 times more than official airport taxis to drive into the city centre.
But, at some point tourists will opt to use the clean, airconditioned efficiently run BTS Skytrain to get directly into central Bangkok.
Fares are yet to be anounced, however, it's likely to be less than the average 325 Baht (£6.50) taxi fare.
