Travel guide to Germantown

Another of the charming small towns of the Midwestern United States is Germantown, Illionis. This is another small farming community of about 2000 residents. This community, like most of the Midwestern towns is filled with what I call the 5 B's of Midwestern living (Baseball, Bowling, Beer, Bingo, and Brats).

The town was originally settled by immigrants from Germany. (Who would have guessed, that?) The town has very little see or do, other than to shop downtown for antiques, visit a bar, or look at the farms.

One note of distinction, Germantown is the home of "Red" Schoendienst, a famous player/coach/manager in baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals. [edit text] [editors]
