Have gone through most members views about Nairobi in particular and i tell you as much as the city is not safe, there is much more to Kenya than the few incidents of being mugged.

The national parks rich with wild animals, (the big five). the vast Savannah grassland, the culture of the pple mostly the Maasai, the migration of the wilderbeast in JULY TO AUGUST......the mountain and the lakes...........all this is awesome and the best way to learn about a place is to visit and explore.....reading or hearing is never enough.

love you all

Nairobi is safe. The central business district is safe, patrolled and well lit at night. Just like any other capital city, if you keep to the safe areas, Nairobi is safe.

I'm not sure I would say that Nairobi is safe, but it is certainly not as dangerous as most make it out to be, if you carry your common sense with you.

Treat it like any other big city and you'll be OK.

The most dangerous part of Nairobi are the roads leading in and out of it. Have some potholes!

I agree! Every place is safe as long as you're not doing anything that will make it otherwise... I hope we're all enjoying our trips! :)
