I shall shortly be uploading some photos and maybe reports from a month's holiday in Zimbabwe in 1991. That was a splendid holiday; we stayed with friends and our only contacts with white people during the time were casual - shops etc. It was a time of great hope in that country.

However I should not want the fact that I am uploding material on Zimbabwe to be taken as any sort of recomendation for people to visit now. I say no more as I don't think political comment goes well on a travel site.

David,

I agree, political commentary is not really part of this site.

There are many countries of the world where we do not support the policitcal views, however this shouldn't detract from the beauty of that country.

Post your pictures, they will be nice to see. I think I may also post my report of the day spent on the Zambezi River.

Hi David,

It'll be great to see your photos. I grew up in Zim and it will bring back memories of old times I'm sure.

Not to start any political dialogue here, but although Zimababwe is in dire straits, I'm not conviced it's physically unsafe to visit. For the more adventurous, it's quite possible. Life goes on somehow for the folks there, despite shortages of supplies and so on, which means tourists who don't mind the unexpected and unscheduled could still enjoy it's beauty and people.

Just my opinion. Globosapiens are an intrepid lot :o)
