My and my husband will fly to Laos on 10th august and come back home the 6th september.

Could you help me in our itinerary?

We are thinking to visit:

Vang Vieng, Luan Prabang, Luang Nam Tha, Muang Sing, Vientiane. This for the north.

How about the South Laos? maybe reach the Si Pha Don 4000 islands? Which citys worth a visit?

We would love to see nature, culture, "etnic villages", waterfalls where swim...

We will arrive in Bangkok and we really love to reach Angkor, so where enter in Laos? From Cambodia? Maybe fly from Siam rep to Pakse?

Thanks to all :)

I have just returned from a trip in that area.

As my Laos visit was a last minute decision I was only there for just under a week and covered Vientiane (Wiengchan as the locals pronounce it)and flew to Luang Prabang. Both of these towns are definately worth a visit, we received mixed reviews re Viang Vieng - you either love it or hate it and the bus trip is very hairy but the scenery spectacular.

Re: trying to get to Angkor Wat you can fly with Lao Airlines to or from LP or Vientiane via Pakse which is worth a stopover in itself, we didnt do so cause we didnt know we were flying via there!?@ and also flew with them from Siem Reap(Angkor) to Vientiane ...Lao Air has a bad safety record but we were pleasantly surprised by them & lived to tell the tale even after flying on Friday 13th.

We then flew from LP to BKK with Bangkok Air, their air pass is great value & covers the flight from Siem Reap>Phnom Penh which also worth a visit.

The people in Lao are amazingly friendly & for us were the highlight of our visit.

Email me privately if this was too confusing or if you need prices, websites etc.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Kerrie
