G'day to you all.

If traveling in Australia at the moment please be aware of the huge bushfires in Victoria, Tasmania, NSW and the ACT.

The Victorian fires which have been blazing for 18 days have now burned out a total area of about 140.000 hectars of National Parks and State Forests.

Please avoid traveling in the affected areas so as to keep roads clear for our Fire Fighters and Emergency vehicles.

many of the roads are closed to traffic in any case.

These fires are the worst since 1939.

Hello Mike,

thank you for the warning. I hope will get more rain in Australia this year. I have heared that 2002 was one of the driest years ever in OZ. Lots of Level 3 water restrictions.

The scientists blame EL NINIO for this drought. Hoppfully it is gonna get better in the comming years. We should all take more care about the environment. The ozon layer hole above Melbourne is another serious environment damage. I travelled to Thailand after I had some weeks in Melbourne and found that the sun in OZ and especially in Melbourne is a lot!! more intensive than in Thailand, despite the fact that Melbourne was not close as hot as Thailand in January.

Cheers,

Andy
