I am looking for an easy way to get from bangkok to krabi. Last time i was in thailand i took the train north and then flew to ko samui and then took a ferry/bus to krabi. this time i am flying into bankok with only 14 days and want to know an easy or cheap way to get to krabi...i arrive at 1 am and would like to leave the city by 5 that afternoon. is it worth buying a ticket from the US on bankok air or should i get a travel agent there or should i take the train to suritanni? anyone have any advice or done any of the following?

Hi!

You can take the bus or the train to SuratThani. Really cheap and also possible travel by night.

Then SuratThani to Krabi by bus. (2 to 3 hours)

There are several Travel Agencies that can sell you flight/train/bus tickets to everywhere cheaper than in the US.

Specially in Khao San Road.

Hope it helps.

Dani!

definately buy your onward travel in Bangkok itself! Unless you have money to burn of course!

If time is the biggest issue then consider the flight, it's quick and easy. You can take the overnight train however, it does take just as long as the bus but you can get a great nights sleep and there's a restaurent cart.

Taking the bus is very tiring, uncomfortable (i've done it about 3 times there and back!) BUT very Cheap!! If you get the bus avoid unnessecary delays by going with a good firm.. some can have you waiting around for connections in obscure desolate cafe's. The PP Family tour buses always took me straight to krabi.

Would you risk it, for a biscuit?
