Hi all,

especially Britman, inazaghi and even wreckit2 (who doesn't seem to like Bintan much), thank you for all the info. I had been to Bintan and back...frankly, i kind of like it!!

Yes, it is not as happening as Bali, no local community, no public transport, no karaoke or pubs out there.. but on an overall, i found it nice & peaceful. The people there are all very friendly and helpful, making sure that my requirements are met.

I stayed at the Mana Mana resort, and i had lots of fun. My family enjoyed it too. But i must agreed that food is expensive, even more expensive compared to Singapore standards. But we had great fun enjoying the beach, water sports.. and at nite fall, we catch out nite mangrove trip. excellent... where the world can u find fireflies now? The next morning, we went to visit a kumpung.. very original..same version of a countryside in the Western countries. for my kids, i found that the trip is worth going, and educational too.

Yeap, i knew that options are very subjective, some people like Bintan and some don't. I respect that. But personally, i luv it & will visit Bintan again.

tks,

Glad you made it after all! It's quite a relaxing place, I am sure you would agree... and did you try the fresh coconuts while lazing on the golden beaches? Or maybe you went snorkelling and ended up with a burnt back? :O)

I am planning on visiting Thailand in December and may even make a trip to Bintan although my travel partner may want to go to Bali.
