Hello Globies!

Here is the question to our Australia experts:

How to get on a cheap to Cocos and Christmas islands?

I understand that they are a part of Australian territory.

Are there ferries from the mainland? Are the islands

included in any airpass? Any special fares?

Thanks...

Wojtek

If you're in Asia and based in Singapore, there are numerous cheap packages to Christmas Island (maybe also to Cocos).

Thanks Inzaghi,

Do you think package tour is a budget solution?

There are two Christmas Islands: one on the Pacific -

accessible only from Hawaii and second on the Indian Ocean -

close to Australia. Are you sure that they fly from

Singapore to Australian one?

Yeap, I lived in Singapore for 20 years, and when I was there 5 years back, the rage was the new destination of Christmas Island (the one near OZ, not very far off from Singapore, really)... tour packages were promising, amongst many others, lots of crabs and duh... kangaroo road signs.

Edited to add: I doubt it would be a direct flight, however.
