I wanna go to India next january/february for one or two month. Could you give me some "first-hand" informations about the beaches in Chennai and Goa. Who was there and can give me some tips, where to stay and how to travel around. And where should I make a stopp-over Mumbai or Dehli, what is more interesting?

Thx for your answers

Hi

In Chennai there is huge beach south of the fort with plenty of fishing boats at the southern end. But it is not a place if you look for privacy. It is better to go by bus to Mamallapuram (where famous temples are) - the beach there is smaller but nicer.

Regarding Goa - in general the central beaches are polluted and crowded - I advice to go either far north of far south end of the Goan coast - see my travel log for details

Enjoy!

Dude,

You asked about Mumbai and Delhi. Marianne wrote a terrific report on Mumbai: http://www.globosapiens.net/marianne-travelogue/Mumbai.html . I stayed only one day there and found it very cosmopolitan. I was more charmed by Delhi (I spent several days there) which I found to have a terrific vibe. Delhi offers a wonderful blend of old and new. Chandini Chowk is the largest market in Asia and should be experienced. Each street is dedicated to one or two trades. Conaught Place is more modern.

Do see a Bollywood movie while in India. It is to be experienced in person!

hii ,I fully agree with Eire ,delhi is a city where you can find every thing from historic to new buildings ,shoping ...etc.

Marina beach is nice at chennai ,also there is a croc park near by on way to mahabalipuram.

Note:In delhi there is lots of project going on due to comming common welth games at 2010 ,so at some places you can face difficulties related to traffic ,specially at airport.
