Who knows how to get from Laos (Thousand Islands - Pakse) to Angkor Wat?

Where can we get a visa for Cambodia or do we have to go via Thailand?

How long does it take to get from Laos (Thousand Islands - Pakse) to Angkor Wat?

How long does it take to get from Angkor Wat to Bangkok by bus?

don't know about getting from laos straight to cambodia without going through thailand first. However, the bus from siem reap to bangkok i do. It takes about 15 hours, depends on the roads and how long the que at immigration is. The road from Siem Reap to the thai border is horrific and i pride myself on being the only person to have slept despite being continually battered about and having luggage fall on top of me, one of the bridges colapsed as well and we had to catch another bus from the other side.

If you have money to burn then you can fly.

It was good fun though and i met some great travelling companions along the way.

almost forgot, do i take it that you're NOT going to phnom pehn? You are really missing out if you don't, it's a lovely city and completely different from siem reap. If you have the time take a boat or shared taxi to the capital, you can get round all the museums in a day and then catch a bus to sioukanville (check the spelling!) Cambodias main beach resort and pretty quiet by thai standards. You can get a ferry and then taxi to the thai border and catch a minibus to trat where you can get a coach to bangkok... it can be a bit of a race though.

I keep reading reports of travelers crossing from Voen Kham in the Champasak province of Laos to Stung Treng Cambodia. Supposedly the Lao embassy says the crossing is open to everyone. I recommend looking into it before you attempt the crossing. Good Luck!
