Now it has more than a million inhabitants and old trams going along bumpy streets. I stay just steps from the station in the new Millenium hostel - economy single cost 900 rou. Centre of the town is surprisely far from the station so tale a 18 rou bus to go there. At the conjunction of Irtysh and Om rivers you will find remains of the fortress from 18th century and few nice orthodox churches. Later on it is worth to take marshrutka from the station to get for 70 rou each way to well rebuilt after soviet times Achairsky Monastery. --- You can lose everything, but nobody will take away what you saw and what you experienced...
