The thing about sending things by boat in India is (and please don't shout at me people this is my own personal experience as well as many others!) not only do parcels go missing at the ports but there's an even greater chance of parcels going missing if they have to go over land first. If you really can't afford air mail then just don't get your hopes up on the parcel getting to your destination, look on it as more of a bonus or treat if it does ever arrive!

Would you risk it, for a biscuit?

Hi Cedric,

Well, to send the things by boat to France is a bit risk taking idea, chances are that you might never get your stuff which you sent, so my suggestion would be, buy good things in less quantity and take them along with you when you return to France as your excess baggage. In the mean while if you get hold of a reliable shipping company which undertakes cargo transfer then you may send a huge package to France after getting the insurance done so you be on the safer side, but you will have to supervise the whole process by yourselfself till the package is not being loaded on the ship.
