I am in Tyumen on the picturesque Tura river. The city (600000 inhabitants) is the unofficial capital of oil-rich region. They used oil money to built a great riveside promenade with many sculptures. Troicky Orthodox Monastery is probably the nicest buiding of Tyumen but there are also other interesting places. One of them is Selhoz Academy building where they kept balsamed body of Lenin during the WW2. Pedestrian Lovers' Bridge will give you the panoramic view of the city. Lovely sun was shining when I was strolling along the wide streets visiting also other orthodox churches, art museum and old mansions. Tomorrow I plan to take the train to Tobolsk - another Siberian city.
