Hi all,

I am still deciding on where I am off to next year.

One option is the above two countries.

Has anyone done an overland border crossing in either direction between the two countries? Or is it easier to fly?

Also can anyone recommend anywhere else in Cambodia that is worthwhile seeing besides the normal tourist trail?

Cheers,

Kerrie

I would also be interested in this information as these are 2 possible destinations for next year - however that could change!!

Hi!

The border crossing is really easy in any of the 2 directions.

You gan get the visas in a few days and then buy a bus ticket that will do the Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh city (Or viceversa) in around 10 hours changing the bus at the border.

Another option is by boat .... but I only know that is possible from Camb. to Viet.

Remember that the roads in Cambodia are the hell on earth!!!

Anyway fly is obviously easier and faster but you can't see what's on in the middle.

Cambodia = Angkor Wat (Siem Reap), Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville for the beach, Kratie to see the dolphins, the Tonle Sap lake and that's enough.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Dani,

Since reading a little more I believe that May is the wet season.

Also since talking to more people I have been recommended to skip Vietnam & just do Laos & Cambodia. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Kerrie

Hi Kerrie!

Well it depends on you.

From my point of view is a question of priorities.

Lao = Religion+jungle

Cambodia= History and Archeology + little of danger.

Vietnam= Culture+people

Check your priorities when travel and you will find an answer.

Anyway the 3 countries are amazing and will enrich your soul.

Enjoy it.

Hope it helps.

Dani!
