For the foreigners it is known rather as a place where bolsheviks killed the last Russian tsar and his whole family. The house of tragedy do not exist any more. On this site Russians built a huge, bizantine-style Church on the Blood. I have been there today. But the burial site of the Nicolas II, his wife and 5 children is some 15 kms off the city in the pine forest of Ganina Yama. Orthodox church recognized whole family as a saints -the martyrs. Recently they built there a huge complex of churches and other buildings for the crowds of coming pilgrims. The place is nice snd stylish. For the independent travellers the best option is to take round trip tour from Yekaterinburg for 600 roubles. --- You can lose everything, but nobody will take away what you saw and what you experienced...
