Barbados is a relatively small Caribbean island with a population of around 80,000. It is a one of the most popular tourist destinations. Bridgetown, the capital was originally called Indian Bridge after the 'Indians' who built it.
The main thoroughfare is Broad Street. There you can find the banks, department stores, malls and duty free shops, plus some nice restaurants and bars. To get a true feel of West Indian life (ie the hustle and bustle) Swan Street, Roebuck Street or Tudor Street has many sidewalk vendors which is always of interest.
Also of interest is the remaining colonial buildings - Parliament Buildings and Trafalgar Square, this Square and statue of Lord Nelson was erected before the one in London England.
Three must things to do:
1. Visit Harrison Caves: this natural phenomenon has wonderful limestone stalactites and stalagmites, underground streams, lakes and waterfalls.
2. Take a submarine of the reef
3. And enjoy party cruise on board the Jolly Roger [edit text][editors]
