Barvaux isn't particularly well known outside canoeing circles, excep perhaps as the station nearest to Durbuy. Durbuy is extolled for its beauty but it really could be considered something of a tourist trap. It's claim to be smallest village is apparemtly outdated. That's why you might prefer to stay in barvaux and do the lovely riverside walk - about 7km each way to Durbuy, much of it exclusively available to pedestrians and riders of horses and bikes.
If there aren't that many people in Barvaux, canoeists may well take all the limited accommodation at weekends. [edit text][editors]
