My all-time favorite restaurant. A "restaurant gastronomique," this is quite simply the best cuisine I have had anywhere in the world. Fare is prepared using local ingredients from the Loire Valley. Service is impeccable, the sommelier friendly and knowledgable, and the wine list exhaustive. We have made many visits to this jewel of the Loire Valley on special occasions and have never been disappointed. The restaurant is located behind the Hotel Anne d'Anjou, (a fine place to stay while in Saumur) and directly beneath the beautiful 15th-century Chateau de Saumur.
