Can you suggest the "not to miss" places on the route? I know LAX and SFO quite well but not the province - so may be it is worth to stop on the way! LA to San Francisco is about 6 hours. San Francisco to Oregon's border is another 6 hours. The coastline is extremely beautiful. Big Sur, Carmel/Monterey and Stinson Beach to the north are all world renown. Napa Valley is known for it's wine. I prefer the mountains myself. Yosemite is easily one of the most beautiful places on earth. Lake Tahoe is also gorgeous. Both offer backpacking and camping opportunities. Mt Shasta to the north is also very beautiful. The central valley is all farming - row crops, orchards and cattle. Where does your boat docks? Maybe I can give you some ideas from there! --- Life is not measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away.
