Bonaire - worth a stopover?

It seems to be expensive diving paradise. No, I do not dive, I snorkel only... Is Bonaire worth a short stopover? Any inexpensive accommodation there? The main activity is great diving and snorkeling. But they have also national park with flamingoes and other birds and plenty of wonderful coast view points - see my travellog for more Wojtek --- You can lose everything, but nobody will take away what you saw and what you experienced...
