Flights from America to Greenland?

Who is the main carrier? This the only direct eastilly in-bound connection I found from the American continent. There might also be be charter, freight or ferry connections though? It might be cheaper to use Icelandair from Boston, Baltimore or others via Reykjavik (backtracking a few hours), certainly viable if it can be combined with a connection flight to Europe. These work similarly if you are travelling westward. It seems that you cannot fly RTW via Greenland to America unless you will use surface segment and pay extra money for Greenland Air flight! Well, may I know your opinion about the stopover and transfer? Yes, transfer is a stop for less then 24 h. But I hear that those smart guys say: every stopover counts also as a transfer! So if you have the allowance of transfers you use them automatically making stopover... Do you agree? Cheers! I need this info for myself anyway.... We CAN travel round-the-world however and via wherever we like! As you say, any backtracking and sidetracing can be added with costs. You will notice that ALL the "special offers" with all the alliances involve using the highly frequented routes and destinations. Addind an exotic or remote place will be hard but never impossible, only time and money involved! For your case, consider flying across the Atlantic with Icelandair (including Greenland), then using "continent-airpasses" for the Americas and South-Pacific, getting to a SE Asian hub and returning on the cheapest ticket to Europe. Travelling westwards is wise, one saves on daylight time!
