Inexpensive hotel close to NY port?

Now I am looking for the inexpensive hotel close to New York port (12th Ave & 55th Street) to spend the night before the cruise... Could you recommend any place? They are 10 times cheaper than New York.. Matter of fact there is a ferry that will take you to Staten Island, and another one that goes to Jersey... --- Robert56h... Have a great Day.
