Hello...

Question to our Northwest experts:

How to get from Seattle airport

to the city - on a cheap?

Thanks

Wojtek

Hello Wojtekd,

The cheapest way to get into the city from SeaTac Airport is to take a Metro bus. There is also an airport shuttle van available. Some hotel vans are also available, and the price varies. The last choice is a taxi. It costs around $25.00 to $30.00, one-way. By any means, it will take about 20-30 minutes to get to downtown Seattle. If you want the absolute cheapest way, you could call me and I could drive you downtown. I live within 1 mile of the airport, and would be happy to meet you and drive you into town. I recently wrote to your guestbook, about how much I have enjoyed your web sites, and it would be nice to meet you in person, if time permitted.

Write to me when you have specific information about your trip, and I will let you know how to contact me.

Dear Jim

Thank you for your info and also for the nice words in my guestbook... So maybe there will be a chance to meet you in SEA.... I am still working on the plan of my next trip to the Northwest and Canadian Rockies. I'll probably land in SEA on Sep 7th, rent a car on the next day (yes, I am the backpacker but it seems to be the most economical solution if you want to see much of interior in the limited time) and then to drive to Glacier NP and cross the border to Banff and Jasper... Thank you for your offer (I'll decide later) and I have also offer for you: want you join me on my trip?

Greetings... Wojtek

Thank you for the invitation, but I don't know what I will be doing in September. I am beginning a new job next week, teaching at a technical school. I am not certain of the schedule, in September. Also, I just took my grandmother to the hospital 2 days ago. She has pneumonia, and is very ill. She is 98 years old, and lives with me, so a lot will depend on if she survives this.

It sounds like you have a great trip planned. The most beautiful hiking areas here are the Olympic Peninsula, the Alpine Lakes region, and of course, Mt. Rainier. You chose the perfect day to arrive. The Labor Day weekend is Sept. 4,5 & 6. It is very busy everywhere because it is the last holiday weekend before school begins. The attendance at parks and campgrounds drops significantly after that. If you need any information from me, just let me know.

My sister lives near Seattle, and confirms that the Metro Bus is way to go... I found a very useful website that lets you enter your staring point, time of day and destination, and tells you exactly what bus to take and how much it will cost... http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl?resptype=U

For fun, I put in the Seattle (SEATAC) airport as the start, and the Market Square in downtown as the finish, and it told me that it would take less than half an hour, and cost only $1.25. Can't get much cheaper than that!

Enjoy Seattle, it's a lovely place!

Thanks a lot Liz

I visited this website and found it is very useful...

1,25 USD to the airport is real bargain... I travel

light so there shouldnt be any problem with the luggage.

Yes, I want to spend a day in Seattle and I hope

I'll like it but the main target in this trip will be

beautiful nature in the national parks...

Greetings...

Wojtek
