Pedra de Lume - a tiny church
Pedra do Lume os a tiny municipality on the eastern coast of the desert island of Sal. It is known for its salt flats, which boast incredible landscape, colouful, barren, alien. The salt is still excavated there, but not at a scale as it was in the past. The remains of the wooden cable car, including a large station right at the coast look great. So does a small church on approach to the minute fishing harbour, where colourful boats still park and make great impression. There are no places to stay or to eat of any significance in Pedra do Lume, but since the island is so small, everyone come for day visits only. [edit text]  [editors]
