Black-winged Stilt's by caribcolors

Curacao - Netherlands Antilles With its black and withe pattern, long bill and long red legs this bird cannot confused with any other wader. besides it announces its presence by the loud alarm calls alerting all other birds to intruders. It seems to have got its Curacao name "Makamba" (=Dutchman) because of the resemblance ot its legs to the sunburnt one of recently arrived Dutch vacantionists.
