Thanks for the fast answer. I should be most interested in any material on Aveiro. I already have Lousã well in my mind but I don't drive since severe heart problems in 1995. The Rough Guide I have talks about a train from Coimbra to Lousã but I can't find it in Google. Does it still exist - or is there a bus?
I should welcome information on Serra de Açor if it's possible to get there by bus. Buçaco is another place that sounds good.

I shall be staying in Coimbra for several nights at the beginning of October. I have never been in Central Portugal, except on the train and there seems to be plenty in the vicinity to see.
However I should be interested in your advice on whether a trip by train to Aveiro would be justifiable use of time.

Thanks a lot for you comments about my Braga report. I am glad that you like it. You live in marvelous country, all regions are amazing. Next time I would like to see cities/ villages fortress in Alentejo (like Estremoz etc).

Obrigado Carla pelas sugestões. De facto Portugal tem muito para descobrir e sem duvida que as montanhas/rios/barragens da região centro são fabulosas. Conheço partes e em breve farei upload de fotos para atrair mais curiosidade e visitantes. O site que me enviou é pouco detalhado mas muito agradável visualmente, é um aperitivo...

Welcome to Globo.
I love Portugal - was last there in December when I went to the Alto Alentejo area. However I've yet to get to Aveiro. Incidentally, there's no destination report on it - as you'll see if you click the name on your 'about me' page.
I hope you will get a lot of fun from Globo. have a look at the faq forum and you will find a lot of information there - also on the writing and photography pages.
