Lintong (CN) - Terracotta Army Warriors - 1

Lintong is a dusty, uninspiring town in China's Shaanxi province, which came to light towards the end of 20th century after the discovery of The Terracotta Army of the First Emperor. Millions of tourists, mainly local but also foreign, would come to Xi'an first and then transfer to the Terracotta Army museum giving Lintong a miss, without stopping at all. The museum, and also royal tombs and hot springs nearby, are grand, somewhat disproportionately to the relatively small exhibitions. The Army on display is very small... There are three pits available for viewing, Pit 1 having the most interesting collection of warriors. One hour is enough to see everything. There is not much. Lintong is located 40km from the ancient capital of Xi'an connected by frequent coaches #306 (¥7 ow) and Higer minibuses #915, #914 (¥7 ow), leaving from the front of the train station. The ride is taking about 1h depending on traffic. [edit text] [editors]
