Xianyang is located next to Xian, home of the famous Terra Cotta warriors and served as the capital of the Qin Dynasty. It was destroyed in the civil war after Qin Shi Huang died.

Today it is a poor city of about 5 million. However, the city still has a number of museums and artifacts from that era and if one is in Xi'an, it makes for an interesting one/two day side trip. [edit text]  [editors]
