jade buddha temple
Regardless of one's religion, a stop to this temple is recommended. It is busy with many worshippers praying and burning incence. There are 2 Jade Buddhad to see. The first Buddha is laying on its side, while the second Buddha is sitting and is made by one piece of pure Jade. There are many other Buddhas fabricated in other material, yet one as much sacred than the other. more

Nanjing road is located in the centre of the city ,it offers a great range of shopping stuff.
one can get original pearl here ,also good for buying toys and other items.
But I think it is bit costly compare to other places here. more
hong kong plaza
Situated in the centre of city ,it has a lots of shopping malls near by,nanjing road is just 15 min walk form here,bund is also very near to this place.
the rooms are nice with cooking facility with vessels too. more
Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel
This is a great local hotel. It is set in the side of the national stadium and is quite literally 'regal'. The hotel has been awarded 5* and whilst the grounds are nothing to talk about the hotel is really great. more
M on the Bund
When staying in shanghai and being tired of chinese food try out the restaurant m on the bund which is one of the classiest places in China. If you go there for lunch you can sit on the terrace with a superb view of the modern peninsula. Food is great and prices for lunch are affordable. more
