The dunes are the tallest I have ever seen. And the colors at sunrise are amazingly red and black.

Great colours and a great photo, the mountains in the background give the photo a second focus

This is one of your very best - wonderful shapes and colour.

daniserralta - Jul, 15 2006 10:07am
Yeah! I was very lucky standing at sunrise from the top of Sossusvlei dune and having the chance to see that great view. I love that picture.

Excellent picture! Perfect curves; a dune is like a slowly moving serpent!

mistybleu - Jul, 15 2006 05:07pm
Dani, this is a wonderful picture. The contrast between the shade and dune is great.

downundergal - Jul, 16 2006 02:07am
Wow - this is an amazing photo. The contrast, the shape, I agree with all the above. Well done.

PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT! The picture is of the Dunes in the NAMIB DESERT at SOSSUSVLEI and not Solitaire and Hardap Region ...not Khomas Region as stated on the Heading. Please correct!

daniserralta - Aug, 25 2006 10:08am
Hi secret1.
Right, that's in Sossusvlei at Namib desert BUT, Namib desert is part of the Kalahari desert AND I wasn't possible locate the dunes at the right place cause Sossusvlei or Sesriem ...

daniserralta - Aug, 25 2006 10:08am
place cause Sossusvlei or Sesriem ... were not inside the Globosapiens geo-locator. If you check my "activities" section you'll see that I just landmarked Sesriem to correct it.
I will do it soon.

Hallo, Sorry BUT the Namib Desert is not part of the Kalahari desert! The Kalahari "Desert" is actually classified as a semi desert. The Namib Desert is the oldest desert on earth!

Wow Dani! This shot beats mine to pieces! I love the mountains in the background. Secret1 has it right, however, about it not being the Namibia Desert.
