andreas Joined: May 02 Points: 8309 Posts: 808 Posted: 2010-04-07 09:42:00    Hello everybody, as some of you might know we have integrated a feature on GLOBOsapiens that allows users to post a small snipet of an album introduction and report into a facebook profile. Generally known inside GLOBO under the topic "integration into facebook". First I would like to clarrify about what this is all about. The word integration is somehow misleading. I have received messages from members that are worried about having their content integrated into facebook. We don't do this. What we do, is to allow people to post about 200 characters of text and a picture from the album or report to be published into their facebook profile. A link to this report/album on GLOBO will also be included in this post on facebook. The idea behind this is, that many friends of that person who is posting the link will klick on it and visit the report on GLOBO. It is somehow like Google, just that google does that automatically and on facebook a person has to add this link. Facebook has already surpased google in the amount of visitors it directs to other pages like GLOBO. We resprect the privacy of our members and if you do not wish that the above described functionality is possible, you can just disable it. Please change your settings in order to control if your profile page and guestbook will be indexed by google and if "publish to facebook" buttons will be visible on your content. 1. Login 2. click on "edit profile" inside your menu on the left 3. click on "settings" in the horizontal navigation 4. Uncheck this: "Make my profile and guestbook visible to search engines and allow sharing to facebook." 5. Click on "save" Imediatielly after you uncheck the box, the facebook button inside your content will be removed and google will not crawl your profile page and guestbook anymore.
