IMPROVEMENT

- Added member activity boxes that show the last 10 contributions of the member inside the profile. This box is great fun, you will be surprised how "adicted" you get browsing the profiles! :-)

- Edit profile rearanged. Now splitted into groups of edit possiblities.

- Notification settings. You can now specify when GLOBO should notify you, and when not.

- Interact buttons added underneath the profile pictures

- Most of the "member short portraits" that opened in a pupup replaced to link directly to the member profile. Now it is way more fun to click from one profile to the other and discover new people that might become your new friends!

- Lots of small improvements

Have fun!

Perhaps another improvement, that is lacking Globosapiens, could be adding a mapamundi (map of the world) in the profile page of the members showing the countries where they have been (painted in blue, for instance, and leaving in white the countries where they have not been). That would encourage us to be more involved in Globosapiens.

The mapamundi that is exposed in Reports would be OK, but there is only shown the countries of which the member has written a report, but does not reflect the totality of the countries where the member has been. Those countries visited could be added by simply posting pictures of them or writing a Travel Tip, for instance.

Just my two Rials (Yemen currency).

Jorge, thanks for bringing this up again which a lot of members have in various requests. Writing in any language is my weakness, brief reporting and specially photography my strength. I would love my tips and photos to represent a map on my profile page too! I have visited 54 countries yet only 36 are shown on my GLOBOmap! I would also wish that this map is displayed in my profile page if it is possible, even if only in a few years to come? RR

The space could also include another map of places we have NEVER been to or dream to visit!

Andy, the activity box to me personally is not impressive, perhaps going into a very deep personal field? Let us observe it, perhaps we can get use to it? RR

Hello everybody,

thank you for your feedback. The map is a good idea and will come up in future updates of GLOBOsapiens.

Rudi: If you do not like to have that box showing up in your profile you can disable it within your new settings tab (Edit profile -> Settings). Basically the activities box is the same thing as the 24 hour overview, but now every member has it not just the main page. I discovered yesterday night, that it is very interesting once more people start colaborating to flip from the members online boxes to the profiles and see what they are up to, instead of going to the main page all the time. I would like to get more people interested in other members than just into content. After all we are not colaborating to get as much content as possible, but to learn about the people cultures and to keep in touch with our travel friends from all over the world.

Best regards,

Andy

Andy

Picture comments are not shown in the Activity box is this intentional?

Are report comments shown?

How about forum entrys?

My understanding would be, that everything you get points for, is an activity.

Hello Martin,

not jet. I will add them one by one. Some even dated back. It's quite a tough task. The current table shows over one million entries so far. I always follow the philosophy to get started and then add more once it is stable and reliable. The current things you see are just "paving the way" :-)

Regards,

andy

Andy, I thoroughly agree with the philosophy you express. If we had to achieve perfection before doing things, very little would ever be done. Meanwhile I find this a real improvement.

Given the agreed importance of reports, I wonder whether it might be possible to show the name and date of the last one, even if only pictures or comments come up in the main activities report. However this is a detail and should not detract from congratulations on what is achieved already.
