Grand Palace trimmed in broken dishes!'s by eirekay

Bangkok - Thailand, Krung Thep Mahanakhon The story goes that the many buildings adorned in porcelain flowers are the result of a rough sea! The King, Rama IV, ordered 200 place settings of European china but the dishes were broken in the long journey. He then had the flowers cut from the remaining pieces and used them to trim several temples. The result is stunning!
