One of my favorite places to clear my head when the work week has been over-whelming, Yosemite is a reminder that the forces of nature are greater than those of man. One glance at the amazing monolith of Half Dome or the golden splender of El Capitan is enough to lift the mantel of stress off the shoulders and shift the mind. Walks along cool streams or up to the base of any of Yosemite's amazing waterfalls bring a sense serenity and tranquility. On this particular day I had the best of company, my 12 year old son John, as we hike an 8.5 mile loop around the valley floor. The day was capped by the most amazing mountain sunset I have ever seen.
