Hiking the Inka Trail was a goal I had for years. When I finally attempted it, at the ripe age of 44, it was full of unexpected pleasures. There are a multitude of ruins along the way that are facinating in and of themselves. Combine that with a cloud forrest of orchids and begonias and you have four days of wonders, capped by two days exploring Machu Picchu itself! This Album is in order, starting with Ollentaytambo, our starting point, and ending at the Sun Gate as we entered Machu Picchu. A separate slide show contains my Machu Picchu photos.
