A quick three blocks walk west of the center of town, the Cacique provided some quiet relaxation. Small with 34 rooms and a small dining room (eat in town - the food is good but the menu is limited), it has lovely gardens with lounges and tables. Ask for a poolside room - these have large textured glass windows, providing lots of light and air.
The hotel is also a quick couple of blocks from the docks! Stroll down in the morning and catch a water taxi out on to marvelous Lake Atitlan!
