Malacca Town - Malaysia, Melaka A view of the Strait of Malacca from the 9th floor of the Hotel Equitorial. Located on Jalan Parameswara across fromthe Dataran Pahlawan shopping center and a fair short walk from the town sqaure, the hotel is situated in a prime area from which to enjoy the history, culture and food of Malacca. The Equitorial had a particularly good 'East meets West' breakfast buffet, which included great thick-sliced bacon (something that the Holiday Inn Kuching, unfortunate for me, was lacking due to the local sensitivities towards the Muslim dietary practices). Though the beach in Malacca was rocky and not very tiddy, it is a walking distance away if one wants to capture a photo of sunset across the Strait.
