Siem Reap - Cambodia, Si«m Réab Banteay Srei Temple was part of a sight-seeing trip beyond the immediate Angkor/Siem Reap area. Banteay Srei Temple, like the slightly further-afield carved streambeds of Kbal Spean, are governed by the Apsara Authority and as such require the Apsara Authority 'Temple Pass'. The half-day itinerary began with sunset over Angkor Wat, followed by visits to Banteay Srei Temple, Kbal Spean (which involves a 1.5km trek to view the streambed Buddhist and Hindu carvings), the Landmine Museum, a stop by a roadside stall of a family that taps, processes and sells toddy palm juice, and an optional stop at a public shooting range located at an army training base outside of Siem Reap.
