information about singapore  Singapore CitySingapore
Lau Pa Sat Festival Market, located on Robinson Road between Cross St. and Boon Tat St., is the food court to hit if you are looking for satay, the chili, peanut and coconut milk-basted, skewer-barbequed delicacy indigenous to South and Southeast Asia. The interior of Lau Pa Sat features a good variety of the typical Singaporean hawker’s center food court faire with some Western food thrown into the mix, but at night Lau Pa Sat really comes into its own when the outdoor satay sellers, which are set up along one of the streets bordering Lau Pa Sat (I believe it’s Cross St.) that is blocked off for the festivities, spark up their charcoal-fired barbeques and fill the air with the mouth-watering, savory-sweet perfume of grilled beef, chicken, lamb and an assortment of sea foods (and lots of smoke, which should be noted by those with reactive airways). Though not a satay per se, the tasty grilled stingray is not to be missed.
