Hi,

Hope this is the right place to post this.

I request globosapiens to please update the list of provinces in India to include the following three names :

1. Jharkhand.

2. Uttarakhand

3. Chattisgarh

These were new states created in the year 2000 out of existing ones. This would help us in giving correct information in our travel guides/reports.

Thanks,

Shalini

Thanks Shalini

To help staff do you have any weblinks which show which cities, towns, mountains, national parks, islands, beaches are incorporated in these new states and which states they previously belonged to? This might help them but I think this will take quite some time to fix. Till then, perhaps add a note in the picture descripion or report.

Regards

Rudi

Thanks for the prompt response Rudi.

Here are a few websites which provide information about these new states :

http://www.ua.nic.in/uttaranchaltourism/facts.html

http://jharkhand.nic.in/tourism/tour.htm

http://chhattisgarh.nic.in/

I also read in wikipedia that Jharkhand was created out of the southern districts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh was created out of eastern Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand was created out of northwestern Uttar Pradesh.

Hope this helps.

I have not been to Jharkhand or Chattisgarh. But I have been to some parts of Uttaranchal/Uttarakhand. It has many popular tourist attractions such as Jim Corbett National Park, Valley of Flowers, Nainital, Haridwar, Rudraprayag and so on..

Meanwhile, I will definitely follow your suggestion and add a note when I write the travel guides/trip reports.

Thanks,

Shalini
