The one and only, the real mystic place of Shaolin is located nearby a city called Luoyang. I did not know about this city until I planned our trip to China. I could say that there are 2 sites worth visit: the Shaolin temple, about 2,5 hours away and the UNESCO world heritage of Longmin caves not far from the city center. Luoyang itself is about 4 hours east of Xian.
