Does anyone know any good recomendations for travelling to Norway. I'm after extreme sports, where to go, how much do they cost?

Also when and where is the best time to see the northern lights?

Hi

I know a bit about Norway...I live in Stavanger on the south west coast. The best time of the year to see northern lights is of course in the "dark season" (october to march)...we recently had pretty nice northern lights here in southern Norway and it occured due to the explosions on the sun.

When it comes to extreme sports: what are you looking for? In the summer season you can go base jumping of Kjerag (take a look at the page http://www.gardkarlsen.com/kjerag.htm). This is a 1000 meter high mountain outside Stavanger that is used a lot for base jumping. What other extreme sports are you looking for?

How was Nepal by the way? I just went to Kilimanjaro and was pretty breathless when I came to the top at 5895 meters :-)

THanks for the info, liked the site! My fella's into rock climbing but i fancy base jumping too! I've heard there are groups you can go with who take you jumping. Do you know if this is true or how much they cost?

Nepal was fantastic by the way, im hoping to get back there in Easter.. just need the time off work!
