Once I have seen the programm on TV, kind of travel tips... about Santa Claus' house or village, most likely it was in Finland, I am not sure. I want to go there with myX-mas list :))
Does anybody know where to go and how to star this journy?
I live near the village of North Pole, Alaska. It is just outside Fairbanks, Alaska. We do have a Santa Claus house and there are reindeer herds along with red and white striped poles and streetlights. Most people here prefer dogsleds and snowmachines over cars in the winter. It is fun to live here, especially in the winter.
The most popular 'Father Christmas' destination in Europe is indeed Finland or to be more precise Lapland.
But there isn't just one Christmas village as it seems to be quite an industry there. Just put in the words Christmas and Lapland into your search engine and you'll find quite a few websites.
Choose carefully, though. There has been a report on BBC News today about a Lapland-style Santa village in Dorset/England which has left a lot of visitors disappointed.
