Hi Globies!

I am great waterfall fan (see my page: www.kontynenty.tpi.pl/Waterfalls.htm ).

I was reading about Krimml waterfall in Austria -

they say it is highest in Europe but on the pictures

it doesn't look so impessive!

Is it worth to drive 450 km one way to see it?

Does anybody know the place?

Wojtek

Hi Wojtek!

I was there in 1997, long time ago.

The Krimml waterfall was amazing, I love that area cause the Krimml waterfall and the Glossglockner glacier are really near and it's worth a visit if you're there.

450 km seems not too much by car ... around 5 hours driving?

3/4 free days are enough for that 2 places.

You can walk up to the top by the waterffall side and the views are great and is possible to go to near the top of the Glossglockner glacier by car till a parking and then a nice walk to the top.

Is really beautiful, if you have the chance do it.

Dani!

Hello Dani - my Friend!

Thank you for your inspiration! I took a flight to Bratislava, then bus to Vienna, then drove a rented car (yes - you are right - it is 5 hours each way) and I saw The Krimml yesterday

as the only tourist in the area! In the mountains there is already winter snowy scenery. The trail is slippery but I managed to climb the path up to the upper fall...

Amazing! I wanted to upload pictures for you but I my limit is over... Send me your regular e-mail addres and you will see them on your screen.

Greetings from Gdansk!

Wojtek

PS: Grossglockner is already closed for winter...
